ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY

The Saitama Super Arena is a mixed-use, convertible venue with an arena or stadium configuration. The venue is across from the Saitama-Shintoshin Station and a short walk from the Kita-Yono Station. For more information, please visit http://www.saitama-arena.co.jp/e/facility.html.

Parking:

Because of the ease of public transport links, few audience members drive to the Saitama Super Arena. Parking is available on site, but there is an hourly charge per car and audience members are encouraged to take public transit to minimize avoid road congestion.

Energy:

Hostess has purchased renewable green energy tariffs for the entire Japanese tour.

Recycling:

The venue has a comprehensive backstage and audience area recycling program including paper, plastic bottles, plastic wrap, glass, aluminium, steel, and food waste.

Catering:

Caterers provided washable plates, cutlery, cups for all meals. Reusable Papyrustick chopsticks made from 50% or more post-recycled paper content were also provided. As with almost all of our shows, water coolers were provided for use with our refillable water bottles. Food waste was separated along with recyclables for offsite waste processing.

Concessions:

Ecorock volunteers stationed at each recycling point helped audience members sort their concessions waste. All concession sales points also participated in the recycling program. The venue was asked to allow audience members to bring in their own reusable water bottles.

Other green initiatives/issues:

Friends of the Earth Japan will be at each of the Japanese shows in support of the Make the Rule Campaign. For more information or to sign the petition, please visit http://www.foejapan.org/
