ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY
Chácara Do Jockey is an old horse boarding and riding park in central Sao Paulo, now used as a public park and concert venue.
Parking:
There are no metro lines near the venue but over twenty different bus lines throughout the city that reach the park.
Energy:
All electricity was supplied by diesel-powered generators. We were unable to source recycled waste oil bio diesel in the area.
Recycling:
Recycling stations were setup throughout backstage. A private waste management company was hired to collect audience waste and sort it for recycleables.
Catering:
Caterers provided washable plates and cutlery for all meals. Large water coolers were provided for use with our refillable water bottles, though sealed individual-sized water cups were also available.
Other green initiatives/issues:
Friends of the Earth Brazil (Núcleo Amigos da Terra) were welcomed participants at both of our Brazilian shows. You can read more about their work here: http://www.natbrasil.org.br/
Many thanks to Marta, Flavia, and all at Plan Music for their help.
