I can't post messages. What's happening ?
If you post a message and you get a response which says "not
posted from the radiohead server", this can be caused by a few different
things. The two main culprits are proxies and firewalls.
Zone Alarm Firewall
If you use Zone alarm and are having problems posting, this is likely down the
privacy settings. If the privacy setting are enabled, Zone alarm inserts its
own html code into the submit message page. The message board detects this tampering
and will refuse to post a message. You need to turn off the privacy settings
to get things to work properly.
Norton Firewall
The Norton personal firewall can cause this to happen as
boardie LaZy found out. As soon as Norton personal firewall was turned off,
LaZy was able to post again.
1. Go to norton firewall and click on 'advanced options'
2. Click on 'add site', then type in "www.radiohead.com". This will
then appear in the list of websites.
3. Click on "www.radiohead.com" and tick the 'use these rules' box.
4. Change 'browsing privacy - referer' to "permit" from "block"
This will hopefully get everything working again. Thanks go to The Rickster for providing this solution.
