FeelingPulledApartbyHorses/ TheHollowEarth 12inch
Dear Sir or Madam
This is to inform you of the release of two more bits of work shortly.
They are loosely under the
Thom Yorke name this time, although these days its all getting kind of blurry.
FeelingPulledApartbyHorses is written & played by Jonny and I and is a radical rework of an old tune thats been kicking around without a home since 2001? i think.
The Hollow Earth is a bass menace that was born out of the Eraser period but needed a little more time.
Both were produced by
Nigel Godrich as ever. And mastered by Bob Ludwig.
They are being put out on 12" with sliced sleeve by
Stanley and Tchock.
My sources tell me this will be available from the 21st of September if you're interested.. On sale in the
w.a.s.t.e part of our website (with a gratis download.)
Or you can go buy it in a good record shop if you are lucky enough to have one near you.
Then later on there will be like a normal download thing i think around the 6th of Oct through the usual channels.
And so it goes. all the best

These Are My Twisted Words in Austria

These Are My Twisted Words
So here's a new song, called 'These Are My Twisted Words'.
We've been recording for a while, and this was one of the first we finished.
We're pretty proud of it.
There's other stuff in various states of completion, but this is one we've been practising, and which we'll probably play at this summer's concerts. Hope you like it.

Harry Patch (In Memory Of)
"i am the only one that got through
the others died where ever they fell
it was an ambush
they came up from all sides
give your leaders each a gun and then let them fight it out themselves
i've seen devils coming up from the ground
i've seen hell upon this earth
the next will be chemical but they will never learn" Recently the last remaining UK veteran of the 1st world war Harry Patch died at the age of 111.
I had heard a very emotional interview with him a few years ago on the Today program on Radio4.
The way he talked about war had a profound effect on me.
It became the inspiration for a song that we happened to record a few weeks before his death.
It was done live in an abbey. The strings were arranged by Jonny.
I very much hope the song does justice to his memory as the last survivor.
It would be very easy for our generation to forget the true horror of war, without the likes of Harry to remind us.
I hope we do not forget.
As Harry himself said
"Irrespective of the uniforms we wore, we were all victims".
This morning the Today program played the song for the first time and now it is available to download from our website.
Please click here to download. The proceeds of this song will go to the British Legion.
To peace and understanding.

Merce Cunningham 1919 - 2009
We are very sad to hear about Merce Cunningham’s death yesterday, aged ninety.
Merce invited us to take part in his Split Sides project, in October 2003. It was a collaboration of music and dance, but one where each of the elements - set, costume,
choreography and music - were randomly combined, to create a performance around chance. He was very kind and hospitable, and invited us around to his apartment the night before the show. He showed us his computer program which generated random sequences of gesture and movement for wire-framed mannequins, like Kraftwerk’s Robots. He also showed us, the next night, that discipline and focus can create the space for an unexpected moment, when something new can suddenly exist: such a contrast to the scripted world of rock.

Tim Hunkin's inventions, under the pier at Southwold. I keep trying to go there but not quite making it. Maybe you'll have better luck. Go to Ipswich and turn right.

Found this extraordinary shop in Brighton last week. It's well worth a visit...
“The relationship between photographers and police could worsen next month when new laws are introduced that allow for the arrest - and imprisonment - of anyone who takes pictures of officers ‘likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism’.”
maybe it's about time the likes of Apple took responsibility for the manufacture of their products, as they're supposed to be so cutting edge.

As they say, we don't live in the Information Age, or even the Oil Age. We all have to eat. We live in the Agriculture Age.
Download books on to your Blackberry instead of using it to send email, 'browse' the 'web' or any of the other tedious business-related 'apps'. It'll still look like you're really really busy.
This is great if you should be doing something boring for someone else.
Man, I couldn't even read this, it looked so scary. But maybe you can? Maybe it has a happy ending?
Fascinating, horrifying, beautiful photography.
Put that important work aside. Slack off. Play this, it's great.
Well-written, urgent and frequently very funny. Featuring the now-legendary 'Crap Arrest of the Week'.
Bored? Read a magazine. No celebrity cellulite in this one, I'm afraid.
If only. People are beginning to question the idea of filling our streets with fast-moving metal objects that smell bad and make those driving them behave worse.
